Adaptable, Reliable, Care.
I am Sylvia aHellond I joined ARC in January 2018 to work part time as the office administrator. This means that I am the one who keeps all of the paperwork current and easily accessible by the other members of the team to enable the carers to deliver the correct care to all the ladies and gentlemen who use our services.
I enjoy the atmosphere of working with a team of dedicated professionals who care deeply for all of the service users who depend on us for their continued independence.
I love to chat to the service users when calling them weekly to inform them who will be their care giver the following week and feel that I am enjoying a growing rapport with them.
I started work at The Co-operative Bank in Manchester back in 1968, then moved to The Bolton Royal Infirmary and worked on Accident and Emergency as a receptionist for the next twenty seven years, including when the hospital closed, and re-opened as The Royal Bolton Hospital.
After emigrating to the USA for a few years in 2002, I returned home and, in 2009, began a new career on the stage door at The Bridgewater Hall in Manchester, where I honed my reception skills with a totally different clientele.
I also worked part time as a steward at the adjacent Manchester Central Convention Centre with the highlight of my working life so far being meeting the Queen as we hosted her Indoor Garden Party for Manchester. That, I am afraid, superseded meeting Tony Bennett!
Now a new chapter has opened up with ARC.
I have certificates in
