If you are interested in working in Social Care and have little or no experience we offer a full training program. The program is as follows:

 

Day one - You will mostly observe an experienced member of staff carrying out their daily duties. You may if you feel able to do so assist the member of staff with certain duties and this it is an opportunity for you to ask any questions.

Day two – You will assist the member of staff with all duties. Again there will be opportunity for your questions to be answered.

Day three – You will mostly work independently today with minimal assistance from the member of staff you are working with.

Day four – Office induction and issue of items to include all legal paperwork, polices and procedures.

 Day 5 - First 12 weeks you will receive training in all areas of skills for care to include:

• Moving and handling
• Principles of care
• Understanding the role of the worker
• Safeguarding vulnerable adults
• Fire training
• Health and Safety
• Food Hygiene
• First aid awareness
• Medication administration
• Communication
• Infection control and catheter care
• Develop as a worker.

You will then commence your NVQ 2 within the first 6 months of working for us.
